From 25 November to 12 December 2021, the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) held a series of activities in support of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW), which focused on the important provisions of Republic Act No. 11313 or the “Safe Spaces Act” (Bawal Bastos Law).
These series of activities aimed to raise employee awareness on anti-VAW advocacy: elimination of all forms of violence against women and girls, and fostering a community that has zero tolerance for VAW.
During this two-week campaign, officials and employees of the MWSS RO took part in learning and development webinars such as “The Law and IRR of Safe Spaces Act,” “Seminar on Gender Based Violence and Feminist Psychosocial First Aid,” “Orientation on Men Opposed to VAW Everywhere: Knowing Rape Culture, Sexual Violence, and Safe Online Education,” and “Creating Gender Transformative and Inclusive Workplace: Seminar on Cybercrime Prevention and Awareness.” They also participated in an in-house Gender Sensitivity Training, Quiz Bee on the Law and IRR of the Safe Spaces Act, Gender Sensitivity Training, Safe Spaces Pledge Board Project, End-Vaw Art Workshop and Film Showing, and “RO Harana.”
The MWSS RO will continue to create and nurture a safe and inclusive workplace for all its employees.
