“During last week’s online Public Consultation Drive (PCDr) on the proposed revisions in the Customer-oriented 2013 Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRRs), MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) Chief Regulator Atty. Patrick Lester N. Ty and Deputy Administrator for Customer Service Regulation Mr. Lee Robert M. Britanico emphasized the Office’s commitment to protect the welfare of stakeholders; ensure adequate, affordable, and sustainable water, sewerage, and sanitation services for everyone; and explore and implement ways to improve the delivery of service obligations by Manila Water and Maynilad Water Services, Inc., especially during this time of the pandemic.
The PCDr – held on 31 August for the East Zone Concession and 01 September for the West Zone Concession, became an avenue for customers to clarify issues and discuss needs and concerns relative to the revisions in, and implementation of the 2013 IRRs; heightened customer awareness on their rights and obligations, and the Concessionaires’ service obligations; and provided a venue for discussing and addressing prevailing (gender-related) issues and concerns of stakeholders on water, sewerage, and sanitation services, and for exploring good practices in providing (gender-responsive) services.
