10269179_779199452098685_1821179730117004519_o (Custom)Showing commitment in protecting its employees from any untoward incident that may be brought about by calamities, the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) and its concessionaires recently conducted earthquake and fire drills in its head office in Balara, Quezon City.

Over 500 officials and employees from MWSS Corporate and Regulatory Office, Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad), and Manila Water Company Inc. (MWCI) observed the entire drill operations so that they may be oriented of what an actual disaster event may look like and become prepared in any event such emergency situations suddenly emanate.

Acting Chief Regulator Emmanuel Caparas of MWSS stated that investing in disaster risk mitigation not only saves lives, but also safeguards social and economic infrastructure.

Both MWSS and its concessionaires have introduced earthquake and fire drills to all its employees as part of a continuous effort to increase public awareness, intensify disaster-preparedness campaign on both man-made and natural calamities, and encourage proactive approach to earthquake and fire safety.
