MWSS RO bags silver and bronze awards at the PCW GADtimpala 2023

Recognized for its exceptional efforts in gender and development (GAD) mainstreaming, the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) proudly received the GADtimpala Bronze Award for Outstanding Gender-Responsive Agency during the GADtimpala Awarding Ceremony held on 14 August 2023 at the Samsung Hall, SM Aura Premier, Taguig City. The Office’s Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) was also conferred the GADtimpala Silver for exemplary GFPS or “GADtimpala AlaGAD.”

GADtimpala stands as the official GAD incentives and awards system of the Philippine Commission on Women, in accordance with the mandates of Republic Act 9710, also known as the Magna Carta of Women (MCW). It represents GAD Transformation and Institutionalization through the Mainstreaming of Programs, Agenda, Linkages, and Advocacies. According to the PCW, GADtimpala has evolved into a beacon of recognition for national and regional government agencies, programs, and mechanisms committed to gender mainstreaming. This year’s GADtimpala ceremony coincided with the 14th anniversary of the MCW.

Accepting the awards, MWSS RO Chief Regulator Patrick Lester N. Ty along with the GFPS, stressed the Office’s commitment to promoting gender responsiveness and women’s empowerment in fulfilling its mandate. They expressed their aspiration to bridge gender gaps within the water sector, pushing the boundaries of gender and development to create a positive and impactful difference in the lives of women and girls. Through its GFPS, the MWSS RO has successfully integrated GAD perspectives into various programs, projects, and activities such as Public Consultation and Information Drives, Customer Satisfaction Surveys, and the Sex-Disaggregated Water Data Project.
