On 02 December 2020, the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) Technical Regulation Area (TRA) conducted an investigation in Muntinlupa City regarding the prolonged water service interruptions experienced by customers of Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (MWSI). The extended interruptions were due to the high level of turbidity in the raw water coming from Laguna Lake and entering the Concessionaire’s Putatan Water Treatment Plants following the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses.
The MWSS RO representatives performed the investigation to examine the actual operational condition of both Putatan Water Treatment Plants 1 and 2. Water quality testing was also conducted to make sure that affected consumers were receiving water supply that’s compliant with the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water .
