24 years after its creation, the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) now has its own home!
On 30 July 2021, MWSS Board of Trustees (BOT) Chairperson PLTGEN Reynaldo V. Velasco (Ret.), Ph.D. and MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) Chief Regulator Atty. Patrick Lester N. Ty led the inauguration of the MWSS RO Building located at Katipunan Road, corner H. Ventura Street, Balara, Quezon City.
They were joined by the MWSS BOT, MWSS RO Deputy Administrators and personnel, representatives from the MWSS Corporate Office (CO), and executives from Manila Water Company, Inc., Maynilad Water Services, Inc., and MCNK JV Corporation. The contractors, service providers, and suppliers were also present.
The 3-storey building will house the first state of the art government water meter test bench with a laboratory room and a training room—envisioned to train other professionals in meter testing. It will also have water quality rooms for wastewater and clean water testing, rooms for the Office’s committees and employees union, clinic, fitness gym, lactation station, and Data Center that will provide proper and secured location for the Office’s ICT infrastructures.
The establishment of the MWSS RO building serves as a testament to the Office’s commitment to independently and effectively regulate the provision of water, sewerage, and sanitation services for the East and West Concession Areas.
