Chief Regulator Joel Yu of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System Regulatory Office (MWSS-RO) inspected on Friday the Pagcor and Villamor Pumping Stations and Reservoir of Maynilad Water Services, Inc (Maynilad) located in Paranaque and Pasay City respectively.
West Zone concessionaire Maynilad divulged during the visit that the Pagcor Pumping Station and Reservoir can store up to 23 million liters with a pump station that can provide up to 300 million liters per day (MLD) of potable water to customers in Paranaque, Las Pinas, Muntinlupa, Cavite City, and the 5 municipalities of Cavite Province. While the Villamor Pumping Station and Reservoir can store up to 10 million liters of water during off-peak hours and released to its customers during peak demand.
With Yu are MWSS-RO Deputy Administrator for Technical Regulation Area Gerardo Sullano, Joel Dominguez, Acting Department Manager, Operations Monitoring; Atty. Kristin San Pedro, Head Technical Assistant; and representatives of MWSI.
The MWSS-RO is the regulatory arm of the MWSS monitoring that the concessionaires provide adequate, safe, reliable, and affordable water and sewerage services to Metro Manila and its existing and future coverage areas, while ensuring the sustainability of its water resources and the intelligent and right use of water.
