On 28 October 2022, the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO), represented by Deputy Administrator for Administration and Legal Affairs Atty. Claudine B. Orocio-Isorena, participated in Maynilad Water Services, Inc.‘s “Plant for Life” Tree Planting Activity at the Ipo Dam in Norzagraray, Bulacan.
According to Maynilad, this is an environmental conservation project that aims to assemble volunteers from government agencies, private companies, and other organizations, with the goal of recovering denuded forestlands through an annual tree planting activity. This reforestation and afforestation program aims to revive denuded watersheds, which in turn, protects the water supply of millions of consumers by planting 10 million trees by 2030.
Aside from joining tree planting activities initiated by other organizations, the MWSS RO has already committed to plant 25,000 seedlings this year in support of the Expanded National Greening Program of the Philippine government and the Annual Million Tree Challenge (AMTC) of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System – Corporate Office.
Water is not infinite; let’s do everything we can to conserve it.
