The MWSS Regulatory Office (RO), represented by Deputy Administrator (DA) for Administration and Legal Affairs Atty. Claudine B. Orocio-Isorena, took part in the inauguration of the fourth batch of schools under the @manilawaterfoundation and P&G Safeguard Philippinesβ #SafeWASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) in Schools project. The event was held in Pateros Elementary School on 13 May 2022.
In her remarks, DA Orocio-Isorena emphasized the need for educating both children and adults about proper hand hygiene especially during this time of pandemic, the importance of water conservation in achieving water security, and the significance of access to safe drinking water in achieving gender equality, sustainable development, and poverty alleviation. She also affirmed the MWSS RO’s commitment to gender mainstreaming, in order to ensure that the Office’s programs and projects contribute to gender equality and the advancement of the needs of women and girls, especially in water and sanitation.
The MWSS RO commends the efforts of Manila Water Foundation and P&G Safeguard Philippines in providing safe drinking water, improving access to clean, gender-friendly, and inclusive sanitation facilities, and promoting proper health and hygiene practices in our schools.
