In September 2022, the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) took part in three more inauguration ceremonies for the #SafeWASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) Project in Schools – a joint initiative by Manila Water Foundation, P&G, and Safeguard Philippines.
For the East Zone, the #SafeWASH Project was inaugurated at the Eulogio Rodriguez Integrated School on 02 September. Meanwhile, Manila Water partnered with Maynilad Water Services, Inc. to launch the Project within the West Zone at Kapitbahayan Elementary School (08 September) and Las Piñas National Science Highschool (22 September).
MWSS RO Deputy Administrator for Customer Service Regulation Lee Robert M. Britanico, Deputy Administrator for Technical Regulation Evelyn B. Agustin, and Chief Regulator Patrick Lester N. Ty, represented the Office in the said activities. In their remarks, they emphasized the importance of proper hygiene and sanitation practices, especially now that schools are already implementing face-to-face classes amid the pandemic. They also enjoined the students, teachers, and school staff to conserve our limited water supply.
The MWSS RO is one with Manila Water Foundation and P&G Safeguard Philippines in ensuring a continuous and sustainable supply of clean water, and improving access to clean, gender-friendly, and inclusive sanitation facilities.
