On 06 December 2022, MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) officials took part in the inauguration of the Tayabasan Weir in Sitio Apia, Barangay Calawis, Antipolo, Rizal.
The said infrastructure is the recently completed Phase 1 component of the Wawa Bulk Water Supply Project, which will deliver 80 million liters of potable water per day to Manila Water customers. This will augment water supply in the East Concession Area by 30%, and will particularly benefit customers in the City of Antipolo and Municipality of Rodriguez, Rizal.
Present during the inauguration were MWSS RO Chief Regulator Patrick Lester Ty, Deputy Administrator for Administration and Legal Affairs Claudine Orocio-Isorena, Deputy Administrator for Customer Service Regulation Lee Robert Britanico, Technical Regulation Area-Department Manager for Operations Monitoring Joel Dominguez, and Financial Regulation Area-Department Manager for Financial Audit and Asset Monitoring Joriel Dagsa.
The Wawa Bulk Water Supply Project is being developed by Wawa JVCo Inc. – a joint venture between Prime Infra and San Lorenzo Ruiz Builders & Developers Group, Inc.
