The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System Regulatory Office led by Chief Regulator Joel Yu participated in the ‘R.A.C.E to Serve Fun Run IV’ of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Saturday, September 6 at the SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.
The CSC spearheaded the “R.A.C.E to Serve” to open the month-long celebration of the 114th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary this September. The acronym RACE stands for responsive, accessible, courteous, effective public service.
As reflected in this year’s theme, “Tapat na Serbisyo Alay Ko, Dahil Lingkod Bayani Ako” the said event serves to encourage and inspire government workers in their journey as servant heroes or Lingkod-Bayani.
The fun run also intends to promote good governance, healthy lifestyle and social consciousness. The race featured three categories: 3K, 5K and 10K distances.
The proceeds of the event will go to the Pondong Pamanang Lingkod Bayani, a fund for the benefit of families of civil servants who risked their lives and were killed while performing their duties.
