The MWSS Regulatory Office features Marikina North Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) as the STP of the Week.
STPs treat collected wastewater from households and other establishments in order to remove contaminants, before the wastewater is released into the environment. The treatment involves processes that change the physical, chemical or biological, and radiological makeup of wastewater to reduce or prevent pollution.
Located at Balubad Resettlement in Brgy. Nangka, Marikina City; the Marikina North STP was established to improve the health and sanitation in the East Zone, and help preserve the Marikina River.
