The MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) features the Olandes Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) as the STP of the Week. This STP is being operated by Manila Water Company, Inc. (MWCI).
STPs treat collected wastewater from households and other establishments in order to remove contaminants, before the wastewater is released into the environment. The treatment involves processes that change the physical, chemical or biological, and radiological composition of wastewater to reduce or prevent pollution.
Located at C-5 Bypass Road, Sitio Olandes, Industrial Valley Complex, Marikina City; the Olandes STP was established to minimize the pollution in Metro Manila waterways and the Manila Bay, as well as the health risks brought about by human exposure to wastewater.
