The MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) features the Samson Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) as the STP of the Week. This STP is being operated by Maynilad Water Services, Inc.
STPs treat collected wastewater from households and other establishments in order to remove contaminants before it is released into the environment. The treatment involves processes that change the physical, chemical or biological, and radiological composition of wastewater to reduce or prevent pollution.
The Samson STP was established to maximize the use of existing sewer network; develop and improve wastewater services in the West Zone Concession Area; and expand sewerage coverage using the combined sewer drainage system.
