The MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) features Talayan Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) as the STP of the Week. This STP is being operated by Maynilad Water Services, Inc.
STPs treat collected wastewater from households and other establishments in order to remove contaminants, before the wastewater is released into the environment. The treatment involves processes that change the physical, chemical or biological, and radiological composition of wastewater to reduce or prevent pollution.
Located in Barangay Sto. Domingo, Quezon City; the Talayan STP was established to improve wastewater management in the West Zone; minimize the pollution in San Juan Basin River; and contribute to the cleanup of creeks and rivers flowing to Pasig River and Manila Bay.
