The University of the Philippines (UP) Sewage Treatment Plant is MWSS Regulatory Office (RO)’s STP of the Week. It is being operated by Manila Water.

UP STP produces around seven million liters of treated wastewater each day and helps in improving the water quality of Diliman Creek.

Wastewater from households and other establishments are collected and treated by STPs to remove contaminants before it is released back into the environment. The treatment involves processes that change the physical, chemical or biological, and radiological composition of wastewater to reduce or prevent pollution.

The MWSS RO monitors the compliance of these STPs with the local and national standards on wastewater treatment to protect the health and safety of the public and the environment, especially our water resources.

Follow our Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/MWSS.RO) and Twitter account (https://twitter.com/mwssro) to learn more about the different STPs and Septage Treatment Plants (SpTPs) that serve the East and West Concession Areas.

Protect your health and the environment through sewage and septage management!
