In celebration of the global #PrideMonth2021 last June, the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) through its Gender and Development (GAD) Committee, conducted a series of activities that aimed to raise employee awareness on the various concepts and concerns of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) community.

During this month-long celebration, officials and employees of the MWSS RO took part in learning and development webinars on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Expression (SOGIE), SOGIE bill and SOGIE-related policies in the public sector, and HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment. They also participated in weekly film showing and reflection sessions that featured LGBTQIA+ stories, as well as on-the-spot individual poster-making contest that carried the theme “Diversity and Inclusion in Water Conservation.”

These activities highlighted MWSS RO’s advocacy for equity and inclusion in access to water and sanitation. πŸŒˆπŸ’§
