On 20 October 2022, MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) Chief Regulator Patrick Lester N. Ty took part in the 28th Philwater International Conference and Exhibition 2022, which was held at the WIDUS Hotel, Clarkfield, Angeles City, Pampanga. The event—hosted by the Philippine Water Works Association, Inc. (PWWA) in cooperation with the Angeles City Water District—carried the theme, “Global Innovations and Solutions on Water and Sanitation.”
As one of the plenary speakers at the event, Chief Regulator Ty discussed the plans and efforts of the MWSS RO in achieving world-class and innovative regulation of water and wastewater services in Metro Manila. He gave an overview of the mandate and functions of the MWSS RO, explained the Regulatory Framework of the Office and the Rate Rebasing Exercise, and discussed the most recent innovations in the provision of water, sewerage, and sanitation services within the Concession Areas. He especially highlighted Maynilad Water Services, Inc.‘s “New Water”- the country’s first drinkable reused water.
The Philwater International Conference and Exhibition 2022 aimed to promote the development of safe water and wastewater disposal systems in the country through sustainable water resources utilization for the benefit of the nation, economy, and natural environment.
