HAPPENING NOW: PUBLIC INFORMATION DRIVE ON THE REBATE PROGRAM FOR MAYNILAD CUSTOMERS AFFECTED BY WATER QUALITY FAILURE INCIDENTS IN CALOOCAN CITY

About the PIDr:
During the second quarter of 2024, the MWSS Regulatory Office decided to impose a financial penalty on Maynilad Water Services, Inc. in the form of a rebate to affected customers for the water quality failure incident within Maynilad’s service area, specifically the failure in Total Coliform at a Regulatory Sampling Point (RSP) supplied by Caloocan Pumping Station and Reservoir (PSR).
The PIDr on the Rebate Program aims to:
1. provide information on the nature, scope, and other details of the implementation of the Rebate Program to the affected men and women Maynilad account holders in Metro Manila and Cavite;
2. explain and clarify the bill rebates;
3. address (gender-related) issues and concerns of affected account holders; and
4. elicit comments and suggestions on improving gender-responsive services, especially in relation to water supply management.
