On 18 June 2024, MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) officials and employees, led by Chief Regulator Patrick Lester N. Ty, inspected Aglipay Sewage Treatment Plant (STP).
The facility, being developed by Manila Water in Mandaluyong City, is set to be physically completed by December 2024. By 2046, the STP is expected to treat 60 million liters per day (MLD) of wastewater from 122,199 households in San Juan City and portions of Mandaluyong City and Quezon City. The Aglipay STP will use the Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) Treatment System technology.
The MWSS RO continues to closely monitor the water, sewerage, and sanitation projects of the Concessionaires to ensure the delivery of continuous, sustainable, and accessible supply of safe and affordable drinking water, and environmentally safe sewerage system to their customers.
