On 24 September 2024, representatives of the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System (GFPS) participated in a Benchmarking Activity at the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) in Angeles, Pampanga.
Titled “Sharing Best Practices in GAD Mainstreaming,” the event aimed to foster a collaborative exchange of successful GAD initiatives. It featured discussions on best practices in GAD mainstreaming, focusing on MWSS RO’s achievements as a GADtimpala Awardee, recognized by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) for advancing gender-responsive programs in the water sector.
The activity was significant as it allowed both organizations to focus on enhancing institutional capacity and aligning gender initiatives with national GAD goals. Through this initiative, both the MWSS RO and CDC can contribute to improving of policies and programs that promote gender equity, inclusivity, and empowerment in their respective sectors.
The MWSS RO remains steadfast in pushing the boundaries of GAD, continuously seeking opportunities for knowledge exchange and the improvement of its GAD initiatives. Through ongoing partnerships with other agencies, the MWSS RO aims to contribute to the promotion of gender-responsive governance across sectors.
