On 06 November 2024, MWSS Regulatory Office, Technical Regulation Area (TRA) representatives accompanied MS Environmental Engineering students from Mapúa University on a site visit to the Karangalan Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) 5 and 7, managed by Manila Water. in Pasig City.
Manila Water provided an overview of the treatment processes for domestic wastewater, highlighting technologies like Conventional Activated Sludge (CAS). Meanwhile, the MWSS RO demonstrated the collection of wastewater samples for laboratory analysis and monitoring.
The MWSS RO ensures that these STPs comply with DENR effluent standards to protect the health and safety of the public and the environment, especially our water resources.
