From 25 November to 12 December 2024, the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) actively supported the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) through a series of activities.
MWSS RO personnel participated in Gender Sensitivity Training and Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI) Manual Orientation, which promoted awareness and understanding of anti-VAW initiatives.
Officials and employees also attended a theatrical production titled Nanay Bangis by Dulaang Unibersidad ng Pilipinas (DUP Official Page). The play, as described by the group, “tells the story of a mother who loses her children to the conflict between the MNLF [Moro National Liberation Front] and the Philippine Army from 1971 to 1981.”
To further promote the advocacy, MWSS RO employees showcased their creativity and talent by joining activities such as a quiz bee, digital poster-making contest, spoken poetry contest, and TikTok challenge—all highlighting the call to end VAW.
These series of activities activities aimed to raise awareness about anti-VAW advocacy, specifically in eliminating all forms of violence against women and girls, and in fostering a community that has zero tolerance for VAW.
The Philippine Commission on Women, in collaboration with the Inter-Agency Council on Violence Against Women and Children (IACVAWC), leads this annual nationwide observance.
The MWSS RO remains committed to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace for all its employees.
