MWSS RO BAGS TWO AWARDS AT FIRST-EVER PCO PARANGAL FOR WATER CONSERVATION AND DESLUDGING AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS
On 16 December 2024, the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) was honored by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) during its inaugural “Parangal: Gawad ng Kahusayan sa Komunikasyong Pampubliko” held at the PICC, Pasay City. The historic event, dedicated to government communicators, was graced by no less than His Excellency, President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr.
The MWSS RO’s Water Conservation Campaign (WCC) and Desludging Awareness Campaign (DAC) won the Outstanding Digital Campaign – Best Infographic Campaign Award and one of the three major awards of the evening—the Outstanding Digital Campaign – Digital Campaign of the Year Award, besting several national government agencies, government-owned and controlled corporations, and other government instrumentalities.
The MWSS RO also received nominations for the Public Service Campaign Award and the Champion of Information Integrity Award.
In his acceptance speech, MWSS RO Chief Regulator Patrick Lester N. Ty underscored how the WCC and DAC have significantly enhanced public awareness, engagement, and action, highlighting the interdependence between water conservation and proper wastewater management. He commended the MWSS RO Public Information Department, led by its Manager Joan Michelle S. Antonio, for spearheading these impactful campaigns and bringing recognition to the Office—a testament to their creativity, passion, and dedication to public service.
“Please know that the MWSS RO is one with the PCO and everyone here in building a better, brighter Bagong Pilipinas,” Ty said.
President Marcos, in his congratulatory message to winners and nominees, highlighted the critical role of communication in leadership, stating that communication is the foundation of leadership—the force that builds nations, inspires movements, and turns ideas into reality.
He further remarked, “The campaigns, the messages, and the voices that we celebrated this evening remind us of what leadership leadership is capable of when there is a connection with people. While these awards recognize your achievements, they are also declarations of leadership standards that enhance public awareness and empower participation in governance.”
The PCO Parangal: Gawad ng Kahusayan sa Komunikasyong Pampubliko recognizes exceptional government communication programs and projects, encompassing campaigns, media partnerships, community initiatives, innovative outreach programs, and exemplary government performance within a calendar year.
