The Regulatory Office attended the inauguration of Maynilad Water Services, Inc.’s North A Annex Pumping Station and Sacred Heart Reservoir on 25 May 2017.
Chief Regulator, Dr. Joel C. Yu, together with Deputy Administrators of the Regulatory Office, Atty. Patrick N. Ty and Col. Melchior I. Acosta, Public Information Department’s Atty. Kristin C. San Pedro, and Technical Regulation Area’s Engr. Darren D.B. Fernandez attended the ceremony. The inauguration was led by Maynilad’s President and CEO, Mr. Ramoncito S. Fernandez, MWSS Administrator Reynaldo V. Velasco, and Mr. Francisco Matias of LinkEnergie Industries Co., Inc., Maynilad’s contractor for North A Annex Pumping Station.
North A Annex Pumping Station, located in La Mesa Compound, is a project of Maynilad that will ensure 24-hour water availability and a minimum of 16 psi (pounds per square inch) water pressure in North Caloocan. At 16 psi, water supply can reach the third floor of a house or establishment without the need for a pump. It is a Php428-million supplementary pumping station that involves the installation of four new pumps to support the existing six pumps of North A Annex Pumping Station.
Sacred Heart Reservoir, found along Quirino Highway, Novaliches, is a new Php435-million reservoir that can store up to 50 million liters of water. This will enable Maynilad to supply water to households in Langit, Sacred Heart, Araneta, and Mountain Heights and to minimize the daytime operation of North A Annex Pumping Station.
Maynilad provides water and wastewater services to residents in most of Manila, parts of Quezon and Makati cities, as well as the cities of Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Valenzuela, Muntinlupa, Navotas, and Malabon in Metro Manila. It also serves the cities of Cavite, Bacoor, and Imus and the municipalities of Kawit, Noveleta, and Rosario in Cavite province, and Meycauayan and Obando in Bulacan province.
