On 04 December 2024, MWSS Regulatory Office Chief Regulator Patrick Lester N. Ty was recognized by the Alumni Association of Xavier School (AAXS) as one of its Civic Champions.
In their event titled “Civic Champion Gala: A Celebration of Xaverians in Service” held in in San Juan City, AAXS bestowed this prestigious accolade on Chief Regulator Ty. Alongside other public servants, he was honored for upholding the Xavierian ideal of “being men for others.”
Atty. Patrick Lester N. Ty holds the distinction of being the youngest person to be appointed as Chief Regulator in the 27-year history of the MWSS RO. Beyond his role as Chief Regulator, Atty. Ty is a respected member of the International Water Association’s (IWA) 7th International Water Regulators Forum Programme Committee and the IWA Inclusive Urban Sanitation Initiative Advisory Board. The IWA is the largest membership association for the global water sector, and Atty. Ty’s involvement in the organization underscores his international reputation in water governance.
During his tenure, the MWSS RO has achieved numerous local and international recognitions, a testament to his exceptional leadership and guidance. These accolades reflect his commitment to ensuring a world-class, inclusive, and gender-responsive Regulatory Office.
