On 10 June 2024, officials and employees of the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO), led by Chief Regulator Patrick Lester N. Ty, conducted a site inspection of the Cupang Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) being developed by Maynilad Water Services, Inc. in Brgy. Cupang, Muntinlupa.
The facility, which uses Conventional Activated Sludge (CAS) Technology, aims to treat 46 million liters per day (MLD) of wastewater from 58,000 households in portions of Muntinlupa before releasing the treated wastewater back into Laguna Lake.
Maynilad aims to commence plant operations at 13 MLD by the end of 2024.
The MWSS RO continues to closely monitor the water, sewerage, and sanitation projects of the Concessionaires to ensure the delivery of a continuous, sustainable, and accessible supply of safe and affordable drinking water, as well as an environmentally safe sewerage system to their customers.
