From 19-20 March 2025, representatives from the MWSS Regulatory Office, led by Deputy Administrator (DA) for Administration and Legal Affairs (ALA-DA) Claudine B. Orocio-Isorena—who also serves as the Chairperson of the Office’s Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System (GFPS)—participated in the 7th Edition of Water Philippines in Pasay City. The event, hosted by the Philippine Water Works Association, Inc. (PWWA) in partnership with Informa Markets, carried the theme, “Shaping the Future of Water: Innovative, Inclusive, and Sustainable Solutions for a Resilient World.”
As one of the speakers, ALA-DA Orocio-Isorena highlighted the challenges that women face in the water sector and discussed the MWSS RO’s initiatives to break gender barriers. She also provided an overview of the MWSS RO’s programs under GFPS, which address these barriers, leading to more leadership opportunities for women and fostering a more inclusive workplace. These efforts have earned the agency numerous recognitions.
Meanwhile, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary for Integrated Environmental Science Dr. Carlos Primo C. David, who also serves as the concurrent Head of the Water Resources Management Office (WRMO), shared updates on water source development and other key initiatives of the DENR. The MWSS RO is an attached agency of the DENR through the WRMO.
