On 23 April 2024, the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) took part in another Lingap Eskwela activity organized by Manila Water Foundation (MWF). This time, five Refrigerated Drinking Fountains (RDFs) were turned over to students, teachers, and other stakeholders of Ignacio Villamor Junior High School, Ignacio B. Villamor Senior High School, Sta. Ana Elementary School, Mariano Marcos High School, and Margarita Roxas Elementary School in the City of Manila. Aside from the drinking fountains, students were also provided with drinking kits.
Lingap Eskwela is a program focused on building Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities in schools, aligning with the WASH in Schools (WinS) Program of the DepEd Philippines and the Healthy Pilipinas campaign of the Department of Health (Philippines) . The MWSS RO, represented by Chief Regulator Patrick Lester N. Ty at the event, is one of the implementing partners of this initiative.
In his message of support, Chief Regulator Ty emphasized the timeliness of the outreach program, particularly in promoting hydration, which is essential for the health and safety of school teachers and children, especially during the dry season. He also encouraged the academic community to actively participate in safeguarding our water resources through water conservation.
