The National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) starts today!
The MWSS Regulatory Office, through its Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS), joins the #NWMC2024 with the theme, “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society.”
As highlighted by the Philippine Commission on Women , the lead agency spearheading the initiative, the 2024 NWMC also bears the sub-theme, “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas; Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, patutunayan!” This echoes the target outcomes of Chapter 15 in the Updated Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Plan 2019-2025 towards transforming gender norms and culture.
For its part, the MWSS RO has prepared a line-up of activities to inspire and encourage internal and external stakeholders, especially women, to push for the transformation of gender norms and culture towards an inclusive society, The initiative also emphasizes advocating for women empowerment as an essential step towards achieving gender equality.
