On 13 December 2024, the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO), as part of its 27th Anniversary celebration, turned over two (2) Refrigerated Drinking Fountains (RDF) to the municipal government of Tigaon, Camarines Sur. These RDFs will be installed at Partido Agro-Industrial National High School and Mabca National High School to support humanitarian efforts following the onslaught of Tropical Storm Kristine and Typhoon Pepito.

This initiative was made possible through the support of the University of the Philippines Upsilon Sigma Phi and Sigma Delta Phi Batch 1999 and Maynilad Water Services, Inc..

MWSS RO Chief Regulator Patrick Lester N. Ty and Deputy Administrator for Customer Service Regulation Lee Robert M. Britanico led the turnover ceremony. Representing the recipients were incumbent Camarines Sur Board Member Eugene Adrian B. Fuentebella and Mr. Ernest Aaron P. Valdez.

During the event, Chief Regulator Ty emphasized the MWSS RO’s commitment to programs and initiatives that go beyond its core mandate. He highlighted that the RDFs not only provide access to clean drinking water but also contribute to environmental protection by reducing single-use plastic waste.

As it marks 27 years of service, the MWSS RO continues to break barriers, transform behaviors, and promote equitable access to water.
