From October to November, the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) proudly recognized the outstanding Local Government Units (LGUs) within the Concession Areas with the “2023 Gawad para sa Kaagapay sa Kalusugan at Kapaligiran” for their exceptional contributions to sewerage and sanitation projects in Metro Manila, and portions of Cavite and Rizal.
Chief Regulator Patrick Lester N. Ty, Deputy Administrator for Customer Service Regulation Lee Robert M. Britanico, Department Manager for Metering Efficiency Francis Eduardo P. Ayapana, and Department Manager for Public Information Joan Michelle S. Antonio led the awarding ceremony, presenting plaques to the Chief Executives of the winning LGUs.
The following LGUs within the East and West Concession Areas received citations:
– Antipolo City (Outstanding LGU in Rizal)
– Bacoor City (Outstanding LGU in Cavite)
– Mandaluyong City (Outstanding LGU in NCR)
– Caloocan City (Runner-up LGU in NCR)
– Manila City (Runner-up LGU in NCR)
The agency extends its gratitude and appreciation to the LGUs for their invaluable support for the sanitation programs of the MWSS RO and the Concessionaires. This initiative aims to highlight the importance of sanitation, and encourage stakeholders to have their septic tanks desludged regularly to safeguard public health and safety, protect water resources, and preserve the environment for future generations.
