On 27 June 2025, the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) recognized the Soroptimist International of the Americas Philippines Region (SIAPR) as one of its valued partners in the tree planting initiative “27K Trees for 27 Years.” MWSS RO Chief Regulator Patrick Lester N. Ty led the awarding ceremony.

With the support of several SIAPR clubs—including the Soroptimist International of Malabon, Caloocan, Sampaloc, Palawan, Manila Tourist Belt, and San Juan—more than 300 seedlings were donated. These trees are currently being cared for by the staff of Mount Purro Nature Reserve in Antipolo City, Rizal.

This year, as part of its 28th anniversary celebration, the MWSS RO has pledged to plant 28,000 seedlings in support of the Expanded National Greening Program of the Philippine government and the Annual Million Tree Challenge (AMTC) of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System – Corporate Office (MWSS CO).

The MWSS RO invites individuals and other organizations to participate in various tree planting initiatives to protect the environment, particularly our water resources.
