On 03 April 2025, MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) Chief Regulator Patrick Lester N. Ty led the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the MWSS RO and Megawide Foundation PH, Inc. The Megawide Foundation delegation was headed by President Teresa Chua-Saavedra.
This initiative formalizes the partnership between the two organizations to support watershed reforestation and protection efforts, which are crucial for sustaining the water supply for Metro Manila and adjacent provinces.
In celebration of its 28th anniversary, the MWSS RO aims to plant 28,000 seedlings in support of the Expanded National Greening Program of the Philippine government and the Annual Million Tree Challenge (AMTC) of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System – Corporate Office (MWSS CO).
The MWSS RO enjoins individuals and organizations to participate in tree planting initiatives to help protect the environment, particularly our water resources.
