In celebration of the global #PrideMonth2025 last June, the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO), through its Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System (GFPS), initiated and participated in a series of activities aimed at raising employee awareness and showing support for the diverse concerns of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) community.
During this month-long celebration, MWSS RO officials and employees took part in a learning and development webinar on the “Basics of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Expression, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC) and Understanding Intersectionality and Microaggressions.”
They also joined the MWSS Complex PRIDE March, themed “Love Flows Through All,” and the “Love and Dance Zumba Party” held at the MWSS Compound in Quezon City.
In his message of support, MWSS RO Chief Regulator Patrick Lester N. Ty enjoined everyone to work towards water and wastewater services that embody compassion, dignity, and inclusivity for all stakeholders, especially for the marginalized sectors of the community.
The MWSS RO remains committed to promoting equity and inclusion in access to water and sanitation.
