In a media interview earlier, MWSS RO Chief Regulator Atty. Patrick Lester N. Ty stated that in light of recent developments, the MWSS Board of Trustees has directed MWSS RO to initiate discussions with water concessionaires, Manila Water Company, Inc. (MWCI) and Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (MWSI) to consider deferment of the tariff adjustment scheduled for 01 January 2020.

MWCI, through a letter dated 03 December 2019 to the MWSS Board of Trustees, already expressed its intention to work out an arrangement on the implementation timeline for the adjustment.

Chief Regulator Ty will issue further statements once the matter has been resolved.
