The MWSS-RO met with Maynilad regarding the planned shutdown of its Putatan Water Treatment Plant (Putatan 1).
The anticipated shutdown, which was announced by Maynilad and published by the Regulatory Office (RO) as early as 01 June 2018, is for the interconnection of the Putatan 1 to Putatan 2. Putatan 2 is the new treatment plant that Maynilad is constructing in the area.
The shutdown of Putatan 1 and the interconnection to Putatan 2 begins on 6 June until 8 June 2018.
Maynilad assured the Regulatory Office that the shutdown and the resulting service interruption in parts of Cavite, Las Pinas, Muntinlupa and Paranaque was meticulously planned to make sure that the interruption has very minimal impact to their customers. Further, Maynilad has beefed up their customer service hotlines to receive requests for water during the period.
Once interconnected, service is projected to meet the growing demand for water in the area. More than 266,000 affected households will see an improvement in water service in the southern portion of the West Zone of the concession.
Reproduced below is the schedule of service interruption that was posted earlier in this website and MWSS-RO’s Facebook page.
