MWSS RO BAGS 2021 FOI CHAMPION AWARD FOR GOCCs!
The MWSS Regulatory Office (RO), represented by Chief Regulator Atty. Patrick Lester N. Ty, was recognized by the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) as the 2021Freedom of Information (FOI) Champion under Government-owned and/or Controlled Corporations Category, for its exceptional and significant contribution to the FOI Program’s progress and development. The FOI Awards Ceremony was held on 25 November 2021 at the Radisson Blu, Cebu City.
MWSS RO FOI Chairperson and Department Manager for Public Information Ms. Joan Michelle S. Antonio also received the “FOI Golden Touch Award” for her ability to institutionalize FOI compliance in the various agencies she has handled.
The PCOO FOI-Project Management Office (PMO) holds the FOI Awards Ceremony annually to recognize individuals, organizations, and agencies with significant advancements in the field of information access in the Philippines.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Regulator Ty stressed the MWSS RO’s commitment to continuously enhance its FOI structure, policies, and processes in order to provide vital information on water, sewerage, and sanitation in a regular and timely manner. He also emphasized the agency’s support for the shared mission of providing every Filipino citizen easy access to government information, in its efforts to uphold its core values of participatory governance, transparency, and accountability.
