On 20 June 2023, the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO), represented by Chief Regulator Patrick Lester N. Ty, joined Maynilad Water Services, Inc., led by President and CEO Ramoncito S. Fernandez, in launching the Anabu Modular Treatment Plant in Imus City, Cavite.

Also present during the event were City Government of Imus Mayor Alex L. Advincula, MWSS Corporate Office Administrator Leonor C. Cleofas, and representatives and employees from concerned government agencies.

The Anabu Modular Treatment Plant (MTP) is one of the projects that will help Maynilad fulfill its obligation to provide a sufficient supply of safe and affordable drinking water within its Service Areas. Currently, its initial output is 5.5 million liters per day (MLD), enough to benefit more than 13,000 customers in Imus City. Once fully operational, it is expected to produce a total of 16 MLD.

In his remarks, MWSS RO Chief Regulator Ty expressed gratitude to the local government of Imus City for its full support for the project, which is expected to benefit more than one hundred thousand Caviteños by the end of the year. He also emphasized that this initiative is a testament to how the government and the water concessionaire can work hand in hand to safeguard the welfare of consumers through partnership and dedication to public service.

The Anabu MTP is just one of the many Maynilad projects that aim to drastically improve water and wastewater services in the West Zone. Thus, the MWSS RO enjoins everyone to work together so that such projects may come to fruition for the benefit of the customers. At the same time, the Office encourages the public to be its partner in water conservation as each one has a role in ensuring a sustainable water supply for future generations.
