On 20 October 2023, MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) Chief Regulator Patrick Lester N. Ty served as one of the keynote speakers in the knowledge-sharing activity titled, “Exploring Solutions for Water Sustainability in the Philippines.”
The event, organized by ACCIONA Agua, brought together government officials, members of the diplomatic community, private sector representatives, scholars, and policy experts. Chief Regulator Ty discussed how the MWSS RO works towards water sustainability through the present and future water sources.
Chief Regulator Ty and Deputy Administrator for Customer Service Regulation Lee Robert M. Britanico also participated in the unveiling of USAID Philippines‘ Global Water Strategy Plan for the Philippines held on 18 October. The plan is dedicated to tackling water security and promoting water resource management for a Water Secure PH.
Officials of the MWSS RO have also been active in learning the best practices and other initiatives to improve the customer service standards for the stakeholders in the Concession Areas.
On 13 October, Chief Regulator Ty and Deputy Administrator Britanico attended the Launching Ceremony of the Philippine Online Dispute Resolution System (PODRS) Consumer Complaints Assistance and Resolution (CARe) System.
Launched by the DTI Philippines in collaboration with the UP Public Administration Research and Extension Services Foundation, Inc.–Regulatory Reform Support Program for National Development (UPPAF–RESPOND), the PODRS CARe System aims to enhance the efficiency of the dispute resolution process and to harmonize the entire consumer complaints-handling process across various national government agencies.
