The MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) will virtually take part in this year’s World Water Week 2023, which will happen in Stockholm, Sweden from 20 to 24 August 2023. The conference carries the theme, “Seeds of Change: Innovative Solutions for a Water-Wise World.”

MWSS RO Chief Regulator Patrick Lester N. Ty will serve as a panelist at the #WWWeek session titled, “Breaking with Business as Usual: Sanitation Innovations in the Asia-Pacific,” scheduled for 23 August 2023 from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. Manila time (9:00–10:30 a.m. Central European Summer Time).

In the said session, innovative sanitation solutions applying the Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) concept will be presented – focusing on several essential aspects to create the enabling environment for the provision of safely managed and sustainable sanitation services. Chief Regulator Ty will explain how the MWSS RO ensures CWIS in the Concession Areas covered by Manila Water and Maynilad Water Services, Inc., and the sanitation innovations being implemented by these public utility companies.

The session’s convenors are the Asian Development Bank, Asia-Pacific Water Forum, Japan Sanitation Consortium, and The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
