On 14 December 2020, the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO), represented by Chief Regulator Atty. Patrick Lester N. Ty; and EastAsia Solutions Technologies Corporation, represented by General Manager Gregg C. Cordova; inked the contract for the Procurement, Installation, and Commissioning of MWSS RO’s Water Meter Testing Facility/Laboratory.
Present during the contract signing were MWSS RO Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) Chairperson and Deputy Administrator for Technical Regulation Engr. Evelyn B. Agustin; BAC Vice-Chairperson and Deputy Administrator for Customer Service Regulation Mr. Lee M. Britanico; BAC Secretariat Head and Acting Deputy Administrator for Financial Regulation Mr. Christopher D. Chuegan; and representatives from EastAsia Solutions Technologies Corporation.
The laboratory will feature a water meter test bench that can test and calibrate any brand of domestic meter up to 40 millimeters in diameter. It aims to certify the quality and accuracy of Manila Water and Maynilad’s water meters prior to installation; ensure that the Concessionaires’ water meters provide precise measurements and recording of customers’ water consumption; and aid the MWSS RO to independently investigate and validate concerns regarding customers’ water meters.
