The MWSS Regulatory Office (RO), through the initiative of the Gender and Development (GAD) Committee; kicked off its 2020 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) with the theme, “VAW-free community starts with ME.” The kick off ceremony was held this morning, in observance of the National Consciousness Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Children.
The 18-Day Campaign, which runs from 25 November to 12 December 2020, aims to promote awareness on the forms of violence that women and girls experience; provide information on various laws protecting women and girls; feature VAW-related services that people can access and avail; promote the strengthening of a prevention and response system on VAW; and gather public support for the Campaign.
The MWSS RO remains committed to fostering a VAW-free community.
