On 15 October 2020, MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) Chief Regulator Atty. Patrick Lester N. Ty served as panelist at the AECOM webinar on the topic, “Sustainable Environment: Surface and Groundwater Remediation.” He joined Light Rail Manila Corporation Director for Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Dr. Louernie De Sales; AECOM Environmental Technical Director Mr. Paul McGabe; and AECOM PFAS Response Leader Mr. Gavin Scherer; in discussing key issues and challenges on wastewater quality in ground and surface water and the possible solutions to these challenges.During the panel discussion, Chief Regulator Ty provided insights into the current status of sewerage and sanitation services and coverage within the Concession Area; the current issues and challenges related to water and wastewater; and the agency’s efforts in protecting the health and safety of the environment and the consuming public by ensuring that the quality of wastewater released to water bodies and the quality of water supplied to customers comply with the national standards.
