The Regulatory Office (RO) of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) will seek the assistance of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) to secure the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:C2008 certification.

Acting Chief Regulator Emmanuel Caparas said the RO is preparing a manual containing the documented Rate Rebasing Process to comply with the Government Quality Management System Standards. In order to prove competency and emphasize compliance with ISO 9001, the Regulatory Office also vowed to refine its processes for the enhancement of the Rate Rebasing framework.

The ISO 9001-2008 Certification is issued to companies which pass third-party audit and are able to sufficiently demonstrate compliance with specific requirements for quality management.
