About the PIDr:
From December 2022 to January 2023, the MWSS RO monitored prolonged water service interruptions within the Supply Zone of Maynilad Water Services Inc.’s Putatan Water Treatment Plants (PWTP). Based on the investigation conducted by the MWSS RO, Maynilad was found to have violated its Service Obligation of ensuring the availability of an uninterrupted 24-hour supply of water to connected customers within the PWTP Supply Zone. In a meeting held on 06 January 2023, Maynilad accepted the findings of the said investigation and volunteered to provide a rebate to the affected customers.
The MWSS RO, through RO Resolution No. 2023-04-CA, has resolved to identify the final rebate of Maynilad in the amount of twenty-seven million four hundred seventy-seven thousand six hundred seventeen pesos and 12/100 (Php27,477,617.12) for the continued water service interruptions within the Putatan Water Treatment Plant (PWTP) supply zone.
In its efforts to promote transparency and accountability in governance, the MWSS RO, in cooperation with Maynilad, will hold a Public Information Drive (PIDr) on the Rebate Program for Affected Maynilad Customers within the Supply Zone of Putatan Water Treatment Plant.
The PIDr on the Rebate Program aims to:
1. provide information on the nature, scope, and other details of the implementation of the Rebate Program to the affected men and women Maynilad account holders in Metro Manila and Cavite;
2. explain and clarify the bill rebates;
3. address (gender-related) issues and concerns of affected account holders; and
4. elicit comments and suggestions on improving gender-responsive services, especially in relation to water supply management.
