The Kapiligan Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) is MWSS Regulatory Office’s STP of the Week.
Operated by Maynilad Water Services, Inc., the Kapiligan STP uses Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor technology for more efficient wastewater treatment resulting to improved water quality.
STPs treat collected wastewater from households and other establishments to remove contaminants before it is released back into the environment. The treatment involves processes that change the physical, chemical or biological, and radiological composition of wastewater to reduce or prevent pollution.
