The MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) capped its 2023 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) with activities that were aligned with this year’s theme, “WE for gender equality and inclusive society.”

On 29 March, the MWSS RO Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) took part in the Office of the Government Corporate Counsel (OGCC) Gender and Development (GAD) Committee’s Infographics Dissemination Activity titled, “ALAMIN ang Bawal Bastos Law: An Infographics on Republic Act No. 11313.”

On 31 March, the MWSS RO held back-to-back activities during the closing of the NWMC.

In the morning, the GFPS conducted a GAD Kapihan session which focused on the subject: “Exploring Synergies towards Availability and Sustainable Management of Water and Sanitation for All to achieve Gender Equality and Women Empowerment.” Department of Health – Central Office Supervising Health Program Officer Rolando Santiago, Department of Education – Central Office Engineer II Aldrin Jerk Tagao, Maynilad Water Services, Inc. Corporate Marketing Head Rosmon Tuazon, Manila Water Foundation Program Manager Jubail Pasia, and Manila Water Manpower Planning, Talent Development and Organization Development Department Head Mayee Henessy Rivera-Miranda shared their own agency’s gender-responsive programs.

In the afternoon, the GFPS led the closing ceremony of the 2023 NWMC that was attended onsite and online by MWSS RO employees. Deputy Administrator for Administration and Legal Affairs, and GFPS Chairperson Claudine B. Orocio-Isorena reminded everyone to adhere to the country’s Magna Carta of Women, and continue to support the mainstreaming of GAD in all of the Office’s initiatives specifically in water management, water conservation, and sanitation.
