The Regulatory Office, led by its Chief Regulator, Dr. Joel C. Yu, will participate in the Annual Million Tree Challenge Project of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) on 23 June 2017 at the Ipo Dam in Bulacan.
“We support this tree planting project of the MWSS which aims to protect the watersheds of Angat, Ipo, Laguna Lake, La Mesa, and Umiray. This will ensure the sustainability of these watersheds which are essential in the delivery of water services to the consumers in the MWSS Service Area, ” Chief Regulator Yu said.
This activity is in line with the celebration of the 140th anniversary of the MWSS in 18 February 2018 and the Environment Month.
In the Philippines, the month of June was declared as the Environment Month by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 237 signed in 1988 by then President Corazon C. Aquino.
